Steps for creating the sanded color block
1. Use a strip of masking tape along the border of
the area you want to apply this treatment to, which
will protect the nearby area and create a clean strip
of color.
2. Fold inside a embossing folder and burnish the area
to treat until pattern is lightly embossed into the
cardstock.
3. Sand glossy coating off raised pattern.
4. Apply distress inks from dabber or directly from
the pad. Ink will be darker where glossy coat was sanded
off.
5. Wipe off excess ink using a paper towel.
6. Move masking tape to continue applying treatment
to other areas as desired
Because the cardstock isn't embossed deeply, you can
stamp on it, which you cannot do on cardstock that has
been run through a die cut machine with an embossing
folder. The other nice thing about this technique is
that it is eay to target specific areas of the cardstock.
*Note: Not all treated areas need to have texture
