ACRYLIC SHAPES
ACRYLIC
FRAMES, SHAPES AND MINI JOURNALS
We
carry two types of acrylic shapes:
Basic: Those shown clear are 1/16" shapes
cut with a saw. The edges are a little imperfect but
they're nice enough for most embellishments and can
be covered with metal tape or faux soldering using embossing
powder for jewelry. Both sides are non-porous and really
need to be stamped on with a solvent based ink like
StazOn.
Premium: Those show with the paper backing still
on are 1/8" thick and sand blasted on one side
so you can stamp on them with most permanent ink or
use sharpies or pigment markers on them. The edges are
laser cut and smooth. Seal them with a spray fixative
or diamond glaze.
The
tag on the right was made using a technique demonstrated
by Tim Holtz in his new DVD, The
Journey Continues. He used alcohol inks to make
a polished stone background and then stamped an image
over the alcohol
inks in Archival ink.
If the archival ink is wiped away, it takes the alcohol
ink with it. This acrylic tag was then glued to a stamped
piece of white glossy paper using Diamond Glaze.
