Images on Clay
by Barbara McGuire, Gwen Gibson, Nan Roche and Dayle Doroshow

This book has 35 full color pages. Learn to make primitive and ancient looking jewelry and artifacts. Very basic techniques are taught.
BLOCKHEADS REVIEW:
This is a fantastic book for stampers who want to move into beginning polymer clay techniques. There are a lot of stamped image transfer techniques, work with gold leafing and mica pigment powders. You'll want to have at least one Pearl Ex mica powder for a couple of the projects. These projects don't involve much clay mixing and an acrylic brayer would work just as well as a pasta machine for rolling out the clay. If you don't have a pasta machine you'll need to spend a little extra time conditioning the clay by hand before use.

Images on Clay II
by Barbara McGuire

This book has 35 full color pages. Create beautiful and elegant jewelry and other projects using cutting templates and transfer images provided in the book, as well as stamps. Learn slightly more advanced techniques compared to the first Images on Clay book, like basic Mokume Gane technique and basic color blending priciples.
BLOCKHEADS REVIEW:
Compared to the first book, this projects in this book require a little more exact cutting and rolling of clay. A pasta machine and super slicer are probably necessary tools for most of these projects. The end results are much more sophisticated than the more primitive look of the projects in the first book. Make sure you have lots of white and transluscent clay on hand. Black and metallic clays are also used in a lot of the projects.
