More information about Adirondack
Adirondack ink pads come in 48 dye colors and 25 pigment colors. Rangers Adirondack line also includes alcohol inks, pens and embossing powders.
Adirondack Ink Pads started with 24 gorgeous dye inks in an earthtone palette. Then coordinating lights and brights palettes were added to the line with 12 colors each. Fail-safe color blending occurs by using any inks from the same Adirondack Ink color palette (earthtones, lights or brights) together as all these were created with a similar color value, or by mixing the 3 coordinating colors from each palette (i.e. butterscotch, lemonade and sunshine yellow), which all have similar hues but different values.
Since then Ranger has introduced Adirondack pigment ink pads with 12 earthtones, 7 lights and 6 brights which can be mixed the same way. Pigment inks are slower drying and more opaque than dye inks. The Adirondack Pigment inks can be used with embossing powder and a heat gun to give a raised effect on your stamped image. Pigment inks tend to need reinking more often than dye based pads. They are less likely to dry out if left open. Pigment ink pads also come in a foam pad rather than the standard felt pad.
