Protective: Once the protective strip over the adhesive is removed, items do tend to stick to the adhesive as they slide in and out of the bag if the adhesive is on the flap. The protective envelopes have the adhesive on the outside of the envelope. It is the same adhesive, but the flaps seem to come open a little easier on the protective envelopes so they're not quite as secure. These are a good choice if the bag may be opened and closed and reused much.

These are not approved by USPS for mailing. They're made from corn and just slightly filmy compared to the crystal clear, though hardly noticable. These are less stiff, more like a sandwich bag.

Catalog Heavy Duty - 9 " x 12" (Opening is 9")
Great for: 8 1/2" x 11" catalogs
These have strong side seams than the regular 9"x12". Both these and the regular are strong enough for mailing thin catalogs, but these are better if the bags will be opend and closed a lot or fi they're being used to package bulky items.

These envelopes are 1.2 mil thickness and made of polypropylene.

 

These envelopes are not actually made of cellulose. They are made of polypropylene, which is much stronger and completely clear. These are approved for mailing through USPS first class mail. They are non-machinable and will require a higher postage rate than a standard size 1 oz letter.

The address can placed inside the envelope, but the postage has to be affixed on the outside of the envelope so that it can be cancelled.

These are also great for product packaging or protecting artwork or booklets. The pressure-sensitive adhesive makes the flaps reclosable.
