Spring FlowersSpring Flowers

This card was created using various forms of watercolor and masking. Background was sprayed with various shades of blue, green and charcoal liquid watercolor. Large Gerbera Daisy from the Inspired by Nature stamp set was stamped multiple times with Stazon black ink. A mask was used over the flower to prevent overlap of petals. The background color was bleached out within the stamped outlines and replaced using watercolor blocks and watercolor pencils. Color was layered on to create the shading and depth apparent in each flower. Butterfly was stamped and colored separately, then cut and placed on the card with wings uplifted. Edges of card front were gilded with a gold paint pen and layered onto a yellow A2 sized card base.
