Inspire Daisy WatercolorInspire Daisy Watercolor

This card was colored using watercolor pencils and shimmering watercolors, and was constructed using the layering technique. The Inspire collage from the Inspired by Nature stamp set was stamped once onto cream colored cardstock and once onto white stock with Memories Artprint Brown archival ink. The individual large daisy and leaves from the set were stamped twice onto cream colored cardstock, Tiny dragonfly was stamped once. Text background was colored with watercolor pencils then brushed over with a water brush to blend the colors. Individually stamped flowers, leaves and dragonfly were colored first with watercolor pencils, then a light layer of shimmery watercolor was added on top to reflect light and add depth. All elements were cut and layered. The collage was layered onto a torn layer of handmade paper with rose inclusions which was then layered onto A2 sized burgundy base cardstock.

The topmost flower layer had the outer ring of petals removed so that the lower flower layer would peek through and create depth and shadows. The text background was sprayed with a ultra fine glitter spray that picks up all the colors in the card but is so subtle it can only be seen if tilted to the light.
