Mica Fern LeavesMica Fern Leaves

Author : Stacey Dunning

This card uses stamps from our Stencil Stamps and Backgrounds & Borders series, which can be found on our page of Blockheads Rubber Sheets.

Stamps Used:
Fern Leaves from Stencil Stamps
Handwriting Background from Backgrounds & Borders

Known Materials:
Perfect Medium
Perfect Pearls

Techniques:
Fern Leaves were stamped on the background using clear Perfect Medium. Starting with dark colors first, one color of Perfect Pearls powder was brushed onto the clear ink at a time, leaving parts uncovered. The final color will be used to cover uncovered medium.

Clear Perfect Medium was applied direct to paper to the small yellow square of card stock. Perfect Pearls were applied in the same fashion listed above. The Fern Leaf was inked using Clear Perfect Medium and stamped onto the square. This partially removes the Perfect Pearls Powder previously applied. A new color can be added to the wet ink or it can be allowed to dry as done here. The Perfect Pearls areas need to be set with a spray fixative to keep them from brushing off.
