TSUKINEKO ESSENTIAL GLUE PAD

It's Finally Here!

We've been waiting for this product for months. I know the manufacturer went back to the drawing board to make sure it would be a quality product and it is. It easily washes off your rubber stamp.

The glue pad allows you to stamp in glue and then sprinkle on glitter, chalks, mica powders, flocking or even press foil leafing onto the image. Once you brush the excess off the image you're left with gorgeous results. It requires no heating or drying time. More details on the pros and cons of this ink pad are provided in the product information at the bottom of this page.

Chalks
Note: You'll still need to seal your image with a fixative. Otherwise the glue remains tacky through the chalk and will continue to pick up dirt when handled

Flocking
Simply stamp press into a container of flocking and brush off the excess with your hand. In this case I did get slightly better coverage by heating the flocking a little before brushing off the excess. If flocking is your main purpose, I still suggest the Palette Glue Pad.

Leafing
Scans of cards with foil leafing don't do them justice. Metallic leafing, especially on black glossy card stock is absolutely striking and I was surprised that this ink pad seems to work as well as the Palette Glue Pad without requiring any heat first.

Micro Marbles
In the past the best method to adhere micro marbles to an image was to use the heat activated glue powder which held fairly well but wasn't nearly as strong a hold as doing the following:
1) Stamp image with Essential Glue Pad.
2) Sprinkle Micro Marbles over the image. Do not brush off excess.
3) Sprinking clear superfine embossing powder over the marbles which will adhere to the glue between the marbles.
4) Heat the image, melting the embossing powder.
5) Brush off excess micro marbles.

Rubber Stamping Basics

Here at Blockheads, our experience has been that this pad dries out a little between uses so you need to reink it slightly after it's been sitting for awhile. The second issue is that the glue tends to sink to the bottom of the pad so you need to really press your stamp into the pad to get much glue. I also store mine upside down, even though I don't bother doing that with any other brand of pad.

The adhesive does work better on glossy or matte coated papers (paper where the glue isn't mostly absorbed into the surface before you can add the powders) especially for foil leafing.

The kit contains an uninked pad and a refill bottle and you'll use about 1/2 the refill bottle on the first inking.

It really is a product that every stampers toolbox should have.
