Stampboard
can be stamped, etched and sanded. It takes ink very well. We've
had success with all dye based ink as well as StazOn and Marvy
Brush Markers. They look great when aged with walnut ink, as
well. You do need to seal the surface upon completion of your
artwork. We used a spray matte fixative, but the manufacturer
also recommends an acrylic varnish or polyurethane. We found
that some dye based inks ran on the surface with brush-on sealers
but worked alright with very light coats of spray fixative.
The
edges of the stampboard are somewhat raw looking. You may wish
to finish them off for a more polished look. Here are some ideas:
1) Color the edges with a black sharpie or other permanent marker
2) Use a metallic paint pen to finish the edges
3) Wrap Metal tape around the edges and fold it over the top
edges to make a stained glass type of edge
4) Use 1/8" red liner double-sided tape around the edges
and cover the edges with micro marbles
