  • 1995-to present: Professor Emeritus of Fine Arts -Central Washington University - Ellensburg, WA.
  • 1964-1995:  Professor of Fine Arts -  Central Washington University - Ellensburg, Washington.  Teach art history, advanced and graduate drawing, advanced and graduate painting, advanced and graduate drawing, class on color (theory and practice), and senior seminar.
  • 1966-67:  Senior Preceptor - Parsons College in Fairfield, Iowa.  Taught art history, drawing, and painting.
  • 1960-62:  Art Instructor - Phoenix College - Phoenix, Arizona.  Taught drawing, painting, art appreciation.


SCHOLARSHIP:

  • I am listed in: Who's Who in the World; also Who's Who in the West.
  • I was selected as "Distinguished Professor of Research for 1994" at Central Washington University.
  • I was nominated for "Distinguished Professor of Research for 1992" at Central Washington University.
  • I was also nominated as Pi Kappa Phi Scholar of the Year in 1992.

  • 1991 - Changing Images of Pictorial Space:  A History of Spatial Illusion in Painting (272 Pages, 42 Illustrations).  Syracuse: Syracuse University Press. Now in fourth printing.

Changing Images was selected by Choice magazine as one of the outstanding academic books of 1992.
Changing Images was also selected by the American Library Association (as one of only four painting books) for display at their conferences for 1992--beginning with the 111th Annual Conference in San Francisco, CA (June 27-30, 1992).
Changing Images has also been reviewed by Rudolf Arnheim, an expert in art and visual perception without parallel. Leonardo 26:2 (May, 1993).
